Two horses killed in Appleby crash
Two horses have been killed in a crash at Appleby Horse Fair.
The RSPCA is appealing for witnesses after the collision on the 'flashing lane' this afternoon.
One horse died at the scene and another had to be put down by a vet.
The 'flashing lane' is an area where horses are ridden and driven at high speed to show them off to potential buyers.
The identity of the people involved in the crash is unknown as they had left the scene when RSPCA officers and the vet arrived.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to either approach RSPCA officers at the Horse Fair or call the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
