Rugby World Cup trophy to tour Border region

People in Cumbria and the Scottish Borders will be able to see the Web Ellis Trophy as it passes through in June and July.

The route for the official Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour has been announced, and the trophy will pass through both Cumbria and the Scottish Borders:

  • Scottish Borders: 11 June - Jed Forest RFC
  • Cumbria: 29 July - Scafell Pike and Workington RFC

With just under six months to go, the locations for Official Fanzones have also been announced, where fans can enjoy the build up to matches and watch them on the big screen.

The nearest Fanzones for people in the Border region are:

  • Manchester, Albert Square - capacity 8,000
  • Newcastle, Science Central - capacity 10,000
