There were two changes at the Carlisle City Council elections. Labour won Castle from the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives took Dalston from the Independents.
There were two changes at the Carlisle City Council elections. Labour won Castle from the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives took Dalston from the Independents.
The people of Copeland have voted in favour of having an elected Mayor running the council. More than 12,000 people voted in favour of change compared to just under 5,500 who wanted the status quo. The council will now work with central government to find the best date to hold a Mayoral election.
