Chemical leak in Maryport

Police in Maryport are advising members of the public to avoid the Glasson Industrial Estate after a chemical leak.

A flammable liquid was located in the area this afternoon.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance assessing the situation, along with the Health and Safety and the Environment Agency.

The area is contained and a cordon is in place.

For safety, members of the public are being asked to stay away from the area until this assessment is carried out and the area is considered safe.
