More than 30 firefighters have been tackling a huge blaze at a recycling plant in Dumfries.
The fire at Scotgen, based at Lockerbie road, began shortly before 8am when the rear left-hand-side of the building caught fire.
Eight fire engines were called to the scene along with police and a fire investigation crew on what is thought to be one of the hottest days of the year.
Firefighters have been using pump ladders to reach the top of the building to try and prevent the fire from spreading to the front of the building.
Inspector Claire Walker from Police Scotland said:
"There is no danger to the public at this time. The fire service is currently dealing with the blaze and it appears it is household waste which is burning. There's nothing to suggest that the fre is suspicious at this time."
The billowing smoke could be seen for miles around Dumfries.
