Councillors, unions, Sellafield workers and government officials gathered for a seminar at the Hallmark Hotel in Carlisle.

The event was organised by the Sellafield Workers union to put across the argument for an underground nuclear waste store.

They are encouraging the three councils, who will decide next week whether or not to look for a possible site to go forward.

Those at the seminar were greeted by anti-nuclear protesters waving banners and handing out leaflets putting across their points of view.
