The former Carlisle Cathedral Canon Ronald Johns will appear in court for first time accused of string of sex crimes against four boys in Cumbria between 1979-1991.
A former Cumbrian vicar appeared at Carlisle magistrates court today charged with 15 sexual offences on boys under eighteen. 74 year old Ronald Johns is accused of abusing four youngsters during his time working in Cumbria between 1979 and 1991.
Johns spoke only to confirm his name and address and did not enter a plea.The charges were all referred to Carlisle crown court where Johns was bailed to appear on the 24th May. The former Carlisle vicar hid under and umbrella as he entered the Magistrates Court.
