Hundreds have arrived to enjoy the Carlisle Pageant despite the inclement weather. The pageant marks the start of a week long celebration of the city's culture and history. Stilt walkers, face painters and jugglers will perform as well as appearances from famous characters from the city's past.

A week long celebration of Carlisle's culture and history begins with today's pageant. between 10am and 4pm there will be face painting, stilt walkers and jugglers all around the city centre. The pageant itself will feature famous characters from Carlisle's past.
