Couple's warning after car bursts into flames
A couple from Castle Douglas have issued a warning to other drivers - after their car burst into flames.
Jim and Catherine Crearie were driving to Dumfries, and were stationary at roadworks near Shawhead.
Catherine noticed heat haze building up, at the bottom of the windscreen.
They checked under the bonnet and saw smoke coming out of the air vents.
Luckily, they stepped away from the car and called the emergency services, as within about four minutes, the car had burst into flames.
Catherine posted the photos on Facebook, as a warning to other drivers to get out of their vehicles immediately, if they see smoke.
The fire is thought to have been caused by an electrical fault.
