'Carlisle is coming to Carlisle': Ladies' Night line up announced

Belinda Carlisle is one of five headline acts who will perform at Carlisle Racecourse's Ultimate Ladies' Night.

It will be the first time the former The Go-Go's singer performs in her namesake city.

New wave star Toyah will also perform at the event, which is the only horse racing fixture in the world in which every horse is ridden by a woman.

The annual music and racing event takes place on Monday, August 3.

Clare Grogan, lead singer with Altered Images, will also perform - the Scottish band have had six top 40 hits.

The lineup is completed by 80s stars Kid Creole and the Coconuts, and former Eurovision Song Contest entrant Sonia.
