Fire crews tackle flat fire above newsagents in Halesworth

Fire crews have been dealing with a building fire in Halesworth, Suffolk.

It broke out in a flat above a newsagents on Chediston Street near to the market place just after 6pm on Monday evening.

It's not known if there are any injuries, but it's not thought that anyone was in the building at the time.

Crews spent much of the night dealing with the fire and it's now under control.

Crews came from Woodbridge, Leiston, Beccles, Stradbroke, Great Yarmouth Fire Station, Ipswich East, Saxmundham, Halesworth and Bungay.

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service has warned local residents to expect road closures over the coming days while they carry out an investigation.
