Missing Carol Smalley: body found at Minsmere Reserve

Suffolk police say the body of a woman found at the Minsmere Nature Reserve is believed to be that of Carol Smalley.

A member of the RSPB called police just before 10am on January 9.

Formal identification of the body has yet to take place, but police believe it is the 54-year-old who went missing from Spalding in Lincolnshire on January 3.

Searches were carried out for along the Norfolk Coast at Hopton-on Sea where its believed she disappeared after clothing and a bag were found.

Carol’s next of kin have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.
