Dozens of people have gathered outside Moulton Library in Northampton over planned cuts to County Council services.

£10 million pounds worth of cuts are on the table which could see 21 libraries handed over to community groups or closed.

Northamptonshire County Council says it doesn't get enough funding from the Government.

The County Council is set to approve starting a consultation on their budget saving plans.

It says unprecedented demand for local services along with a reduction in government funding mean the authority is facing severe financial challenges.

"There is no denying that there are difficult decisions to be made, and the proposals we have before us will undoubtedly have an impact on local communities. Therefore, what we are looking to do with some of these proposals is gauge what role local communities themselves could have in the running of these services."
