New Conservative MEP appointed for East of England
The East of England has a new Conservative Euro MP after the previous one was elected to the House of Commons as MP for Chelmsford.
Businessman John Flack has taken his seat at the European Parliament which sits in Strasbourg and Brussels.
Vicky Ford won in Chelmsford in the General Election and can't sit in both parliaments so had to stand down as an MEP. That means the next Conservative candidate on the party list at the last European election in 2013 is appointed as a replacement.
The East of England is represented by two other Conservative MEPs in the European Parliament; Geoffrey Van Orden and David Campbell Bannerman.
