Major timber fire in Norfolk could take days to put out
Dozens of firefighters tackling a major timber fire in West Norfolk could take days to put out the blaze.
Up to 50 crew members at a time have been at the site at Common Lane in North Runcton, near King's Lynn, since just before midday on Saturday, January 21.
Around 75 firefighters have been involved in total, with crews rotating to ensure constant cover.
A Red Watch control spokesman said they were still actively fighting the fire on Sunday morning - with the high-volume pumps from Norfolk and Cambridgeshire both involved - but the size of the blaze meant crews would remain on the scene at least throughout the day and overnight.
The cause of the fire is not yet known and it could be a couple of days before it is safe enough for investigators to access the site.
