Ipswich Town Football club is looking to register its name as a trade mark, over a massive range of items.

Toilet paper, brooms, tooth brushes, beer and whiskey glasses, through to perfume sprays, coffee pots, romper suits for babies and ear muffs are among the many items covered by the four classes of items the club is seeking to lend its name to.

What are trademarks?

Companies, organisations and individuals apply to register names and logos as trademarks in order to identify the commercial source or origin of goods and services, and set their business and its products or services apart from those of others.

Trademark owners can enforce their trademarks as a means of preventing others from using identical, or even, in some cases, similar, names and logos .
