Luton man charged with terror offences

A 21-year-old man from Luton has been charged on suspicion of terrorism linked to Syria.

Mubashir Jamil, from Belmont Road, was arrested on Wednesday in his home town.

He was charged on Sunday with the preparation of terrorist acts in that he attempted to travel to Syria, the Metropolitan Police said.

Jamil will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Monday.
