Three men appear in court over country house shooting

Three men have appeared in court following a shooting at the home of a wealthy businessman in Sible Hedingham.

Timothy Mardon remains in hospital after being shot at his home earlier this month.

He's undergone surgery but may lose his leg. Charlie Simms, Kalebh Shreeve and Christopher Bergin are accused of acting together on three charges of aggravated burglary, causing GBH with intent and possession of a firearm.

All three have been remanded into custody and will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 23 March.
