A tractor that went up in flames after an electrical fault caused a 100 metre long running fuel fire has been completely destroyed.

Essex Fire Service used three hose reel jets to fight the fire in Saffron Walden, caused when the vehicle ground to a halt on a hill and ignited.

At one point it spread to a nearby field. It was extinguished just before midday.

"Crews used three foam hose reel jets to extinguish it. The roadway was damage by the heat and highways engineers were called to assess the damage.”
