Everton manager Roberto Martínez expects that the future of Norwich City target Steven Naismith should be resolved in the "next couple of weeks."

The Canaries are understood to have made another approach for the 29-year-old, who they tried to sign in the summer.

Martínez admits that the player could leave, but wants any potential suitors to wait.

"We all know that Steven Naismith had one Premier League club showing interest in the previous window and I'm sure that's an open secret for everyone.

There's nothing to comment. During January, we'll make sure that we know exactly how we need to move forward.

We speak constantly, but in terms of making a decision about his future it's going to be over the next couple of weeks.

We've got a really busy period now and we need to make sure we go through these games. Mid-January will be a perfect moment to have a little bit of a calmer period."
