Papworth hospital leads the way in new heart transplant technique

Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire is now a world leader in a new heart transplant technique.

It's carried out 10 successful operations using a donor heart that's not beating.

This technique (which is already established for other organs) has increased heart transplantation by 50% at Papworth since it launched in Spring.

It's set to increase transplantation across the UK alone by 30%.
