Teenager killed after car overturns

A 19-year-old man died after a crash near Hitchin in the early hours of Sunday October 4.

The crash happened at 3am on Preston Road, Gosmore and involved one car, a blue Peugeot 106, which overturned. The car had been travelling south from Hitchin. Emergency services attended and a 19 year old man sadly passed away at the scene.

He's been named as Jack Mudd, from Stevenage.

Another occupant of the car was taken to the Lister hospital for treatment. Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone who saw Jack Mudd in Hitchin town centre in the hours leading up to the collision.

A 19-year-old man from the Hitchin area has been arrested in connection with the incident.
