"Save your stamps": Colchester Chairman on letters asking him to sack Tony Humes
Colchester United chairman Robbie Cowling today spoke of his sadness at receiving a letter from fans asking him to sack manager Tony Humes.
The U's are yet to find a win this season, sitting second bottom of League 1 with three points after their first five games.
Manager Tony Humes has been with the club since 2009 when he joined the U's as the Head of Youth. Humes was in charge of the under-18 squad when they won the national Youth Alliance Cup in the 2013-2014 season. Since becoming Manager of the first team at the start of last season, he led the club to safety on the final day of the 2014-2015 season.
Cowling said he understood the fans' frustration, but said sacking Humes would be a "quick fix".
