Norman Lamb has told ITV News Anglia that he will run for the Liberal Democrat leadership.
The North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb has remained as the Liberal Democrats' Health spokesman in the new frontbench team.
It follows the election of Tim Farron as the new leader of the Lib Dems. He beat Mr Lamb in the contest.
Norman Lamb is the only Lib Dem MP in the Anglia region and has been his party's health spokesperson since 2006. He served as the Care Minister in the last coalition government.
"The team I am announcing today is the Liberal voice that Britain desperately needs.
“It features some of the best campaigners that the party has, balanced with the experience and economic credibility that our party has developed over the last five years in government."
Norman Lamb is the longest-serving Lib Dem MP in the Anglia region and he took 11 years and three attempts to get elected.
Ballot papers for the Liberal Democrat leadership election are being sent out with North Norfolk MP Norman Lamb among of the two candidates.
