Rocket punt powered by cake
Scientists powered a punt with a difference in Cambridge today- using a rocket fuelled by cake.
The rocket used buns from the famous Fitzbillies bakery in Cambridge, said to be a favourite of Professor Stephen Hawking among others.
The buns were frozen with nitric oxide, with the sugar, fat and oxygen in the buns creating the power.
Ten buns made enough fuel for 40 seconds of power.
The device was built as part of an exhibition at the Cambridge Science Centre at Darwin College.
