Major fire at Corby recycling plant

Firefighters were called to a major blaze at a recycling centre in Northamptonshire early today.

At one point there were 10 fire engines at the centre in Gretton Brook Road, Corby, as well as high volume pumps from Cambridgeshire and Warwickshire. Up to 60 firefighters were also at the scene.

The centre is filled with bales of paper and plastics.

The emergency services managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other units.
