Quarrying company fined £20,000 for polluting brooks

Quarrying company Mick George Ltd has been fined £20,000 after admitting polluting two brooks near its site at Thornhaugh, Peterborough.

The offence came to light when a member of the public reported heavily discoloured water along the Thornhaugh and Wittering Brooks, close to a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
