On loan MK Dons midfielder George Williams has been ruled out for around six months after he ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament.

The 19-year-old will now return to parent club Fulham after picking up the injury in the Dons' defeat to Chesterfield last week.

The Wales international had a successful operation on Saturday.

"It was one of the most difficult hours I've had as a manager. The kid means so much to me as a person and I rate him so highly as a footballer.

I went home and cried to myself because I couldn't handle it.

I wish him all the luck in the world. I promised him that I will be at his first game back - I'm counting down the days."
