Simon Meecham jailed for life for murder of former partner
A 43-year-old will serve a minimum of 22 years behind bars after murdering his man his former partner at her home in Essex.
Simon Meecham, a mechanic from Shoeburyness, had denied murdering 22-year-old Leanne Meecham but was found guilty earlier this week after a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Today he was given a life sentence and told he would serve at least 22 years in prison.
Police were called to Leanne’s home in Park Street, Westcliff, on Thursday February 13 2014.
She was found with stab wounds and was taken to Royal London Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
