Man critically ill following Southend stabbing
Detectives are investigating a stabbing in Southend which has left a man fighting for his life in hospital.
Police had been contacted by the ambulance service shortly after 2am on Sunday 16 March following reports that a man had been stabbed on Southchurch Road.
Officers arrived and found a 24-year-old man from the Rayleigh area with a stab wound to his abdominal area. He was taken to hospital by paramedics and is currently in a critical, life-threatening condition.
Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Simon Werrett, said: "We have established that this man was attacked near The Slug and Lettuce bar...We believe two white men in their early 20s are responsible for this assault and are looking to identify them.
