Body found in Blakeney believed to be missing woman

The body of a woman discovered in water at Blakeney in North Norfolk is believed to be that of a missing woman from Norwich.

Officers were called to the scene yesterday (Wednesday 26 February) at approximately 3pm by the HM Coastguard and were assisted in the recovery by the RNLI Lifeboat.

Investigations continue but the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.

While formal identification procedures have yet to take place, police can confirm the woman is believed to be missing person Margaret Read, who was last seen in Norwich on Friday 21 February.
