Injured man 'lucky' not to be impaled by fence post

A man's received a serious injury after a wooden fence post came through his windscreen this morning.

Ambulance staff said he was "very lucky" not to be impaled on the post. It happened in a crash at The Cotes in Soham, Cambridgeshire.

The vehicle collided with a fence and a stationary vehicle in a garden.

Four other people in the vehicle were also taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital.
