Serious sexual assault in Norwich

A woman was forced to the ground and sexually assaulted in Norwich in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police said the attack happened at about 2am at William White Place.

A 19-year-old woman was walking along Riverside Road when she was approached by a man who asked her for a light.

He then took her by the arm and led her into William White Place where he forced her to the ground, removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her.

The man has been described as black, nearly 6ft tall with stubble.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would particularly like to speak to a group of people who left flats in William White Place around the time of the attack and may have disturbed the offender.

Officers are carrying out extra patrols in the area.
