Judge's anger after interpreter failed to turn up to quadruple murder suspect hearing
A High Court judge voiced his anger today after an interpreter failed to turn up to a plea hearing involving a quadruple murder suspect.
Mr Justice Julian Flaux said it was a "complete disgrace" that an interpreter had failed to turn up to a plea and case management hearing for Chinese businessman Anxiang Du who is accused of killing a family of four in Northampton.
Du, who was formally arrested in February after being extradited to the UK from Morocco, is yet to enter a plea to the charges.
Du was remanded into custody to next appear at Northampton Crown Court on July 19 for a further plea and case management hearing.
