A dog attack left a girl with serious arm injuries after she was attacked by the animal in Houghton Regis, Bedforshire.

The attack took place on Sunday July 22 at around 3.40pm when the victim, her sister and a friend were outside the Nisa Store in Hillborough Crescent.

As the group walked past a man with a dog – believed to have been a Rottweiler - the animal started barking and then leapt at the victim clamping onto her arm and dragging her to the floor.

The dog then mauled the girl before its owner pulled it off the youngster and fled the area.

The girl was taken to the Luton and Dunstable Hospital for treatment to three serious puncture wounds in her upper arm and severe grazing to her legs.

The owner of the dog is described as a white man, in his mid 20s, of skinny build and

wearing a white tracksuit and white cap.
