A music fan from Norfolk who went missing after leaving a night club in Barcelona in Spain has been found dead in a drainage ditch. Sam Alger, who was 25 and from Necton, went missing on Sunday 19 June.

Police in Spain say the death of a young festival goer from Norfolk is not suspicious.

The body of Sam Alger, who was 25 and from West Norfolk, was found in a ditch on farmland in Barcelona on Tuesday 21 June. He is thought to have drowned.

He had wandered off after trouble broke out at a music festival where he had been with his brother and a group of friends.

People back home in Necton near Swaffham have been paying tribute to him.

People have been paying tribute to a festival goer from Norfolk whose body has been found in a drainage ditch in Barcelona in Spain.

Sam Alger, who was 25 and from Necton, went missing on Sunday. An appeal had been widely circulated online and his parents had flown out to join the search. Back home in the village where he grew up, people are devastated to learn of his drowning.

A friend posted on Facebook: 'We are devastated to announce he was dead at the scene found drowned. No one can quite believe what has happened and everyone is truly heartbroken."

Sam worked as a performance analyst for the Qatar Stars League professional football team in the Middle East.

Fears are growing for the safety of a music fan from Norfolk who's been missing for two days after visiting a nightclub in Barcelona.

Sam Alger, from Necton in Norfolk, was at the event with his brother and friends but wandered off at midnight on Sunday and hasn't been seen since.

His parents have flown out to join the search. Sam, who's 25, works as a performance analyst for the Qatar Stars League professional football team in the Middle East.
