Campaigners win landmark windfarm battle
Local people and leading conservationists have won a landmark legal battle against an energy company over plans for a windfarm in Northamptonshire.
Four 90 metre turbines were to be built at Barnwell Manor, but the National Trust argued the windfarm would cause substantial harm to the views of a heritage area at Lyveden New Bield.
Today a Supreme Court judge agreed and quashed the original ruling, calling it "legally flawed".

Campaigners have won their case in the High Court to stop a windfarm being built close to an Elizabethan landmark in Northamptonshire.
Developers wanted to put up four wind turbines within a mile of Lyveden New Bield in Sudborough, but opponents, including English Heritage and The National Trust, argued they would spoil the landscape.

The judgment in a legal challenge over plans for a windfarm in Northampshire is expected to be delivered at the High Court later today.
