Paul Downing: MK Dons defender completes permanent Blackburn Rovers move
MK Dons defender Paul Downing has joined fellow League One side Blackburn Rovers on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old has impressed for Rovers after moving to Ewood Park on loan in the summer, making 21 appearances.
The former Walsall centre back has now agreed a contract until the summer of 2019, with Rovers paying the Dons an undisclosed fee.
"It gives me and the club some stability moving forward and I’m hoping for many successful times in the future," Downing said.
"It's one of the easiest decisions I’ve made. Ever since I signed on deadline day, it’s been an aspiration of mine to try and make it permanent.
"I’ve said many times how much I’ve enjoyed my time here so far and I just wanted that to continue, and I’m delighted it will do now."
Meanwhile, midfielder Ebou Adams has returned to Norwich City following the completion of his loan spell at Shrewsbury Town.
League One side have signed goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell from Rotherham United on a two and a half year contract.
The 29-year-old made 27 appearances for The Millers, and also had spells at Wigan Athletic and Bristol City.
The arrival of O'Donnell means current Cobblers keeper Matt Ingram has returned to Queen's Park Rangers.
