A couple from Peterborough have spoken for the first time about their horrific ordeal during the Tunisian terror attack which they say has ruined their lives.
Shirley and Joseph Church were enjoying a beach holiday when they were caught up in the violence nearly two years ago. Shirley almost died of her injuries and had to have her leg amputated. Both say they are still suffering from the effects of post traumatic stress disorder.
The couple were enjoying the last day of their holiday at this hotel when the firing started.
Roaming the beach with an automatic weapon was Islamist extremist Seifeddine Rezgui.
Shirley was hiding in a corridor when a grenade exploded a few feet away.
Shirley was badly injured by shrapnel and after two years of operations to remove it, last month doctors decided to amputate her leg.
The couple are now fundraising to help pay for her care. But say they face an even bigger fight to heal scars that can't be seen.
Shirley and Joseph say they are lucky to have survived an attack which killed 30 British tourists.
