Trust fined after butler crushed to death in luggage lift
The trust which runs Burghley House near Peterborough has been fined £266,000 after a butler was crushed to death in a luggage lift.
47 year old Arthur Mellar, who worked at the 16th Century Burghley House for nine years was killed in July 2014.
The Burghley House Preservation Trust admitted health and safety failings led to the accident.
They were also ordered to pay more than £16,000 in costs at Peterborough Crown Court.
