Train evacuated at Peterborough after pet scorpion escapes
Train passengers travelling through Peterborough yesterday were given a fright after a scorpion escaped!
It's thought that the pet arachnid crawled out of an ice cream container on the Virgin Trains East Coast service which was heading to Edinburgh.
It meant passengers were held up for around eight minutes at Peterborough while the affected carriage was sealed off and checked.
Journalist Harry Horton tweeted about the episode, and thinks the scorpion belonged to a woman who was in a bit of a hurry.
The British Transport Police have since confirmed the creature has been taken to an exotic pet rescue centre in Peterborough where it's being cared for.
