A library isn't the obvious place to report a crime but people will be able to from September at Thetford in Norfolk following the closure of the front desk at the town's police station.
A six month trial will see services switch to Thetford library in a move that has angered residents because librarians will be dealing with police matters.A similar scheme will start at Gorleston library too.
It is an idea that's already been rolled out in other police force areas as forces struggle with budget cuts.
