The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have officially opened the East Anglian Air Ambulance's new base at Cambridge Airport.

Prince William, who is a co-pilot for the charity and has flown dozens of missions since joining last July, was given the task of showing her majesty around before she flew back to London to meet with new PM Theresa May.

During the visit, the Royals chatted to staff and viewed one of the two operational helicopters before unveiling a plaque.

The monarch was also presented with a 'floating cake' to thank her for taking the time to visit.
