@laurencefrankl3 took this impressive video of large hailstones hitting Thetford Thursday afternoon:
John Daley reported 58mm of rain in total over East Ipswich. Meanwhile, Jason Day snapped this Funnel Cloud over Bury St Edmunds. When Funnel Clouds hit the ground, they are called tornados.
Dangerous driving conditions near Thetford caused by heavy rain and hail-covered roads.
Lightning was an additional hazard for many, especially in places on the Norfolk - Suffolk border such as Scole.
And Loddon in Norfolk.
Later in the afternoon, the thunderstorms moved into Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, and Milton Keynes. Barry Starling took this picture of heavy rain and hail over Histon, north of Cambridge.
