Hundreds take to the streets of Norwich for mental health cuts protest
Hundreds of people took to the streets of Norwich today to protest against cuts to mental health services.
The march was organised by Norfolk and Suffolk Mental Health Crisis, a campaign group set up by front-line health staff and people who rely on the support of the NHS.
Demonstrators gather in the Haymarket area of Norwich and outside City Hall with banners carrying the message "no more cuts, no more deaths or discrimination".
Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is currently rated inadequate by the Care Quality Commission. Organisers of today's protest say further proposed cuts to mental health services will cause serious harm to an already struggling trust.
They held a minute's silence during demonstration in memory of people who had died while suffering with a mental health condition.
