Team Matrix Fitness are one of two British cycling teams hoping for victory on home turf at the second ever Women's Tour. The 5-stage race runs right through our region from 17th - 21st June. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the route last year to watch the world's best female cyclists in action. ITV News Anglia has been behind-the-scenes with Team Matrix Fitness at their first stage race of the season and it's an impressive line-up.

Team Soigneur: Martin looks after the riders Credit: Ladies on Wheels/Matrix Pro Cycling

Martin Eadon is a former pro-cyclist and now looks after the Team Matrix Fitness riders. As the team Soigneur - from the French for the "one who provides care" - he is responsible for feeding, clothing, massaging and escorting the riders. He's from the East Midlands and he's a sporadic tweeter too.

Rich Meadows, from Middlesbrough, is the team mechanic. Like Martin, he's a former pro-cyclist and is now responsible for making sure all the bikes run smoothly.

Stefan Wyman is a former pro-cyclist and is now the Matrix Fitness Team Manager. His job covers everything from securing sponsorship, to getting bottles of water for the riders. He also updates the team Instagram page with lots of behind-the-scenes pictures and likes to tweet from his own account too.

There's also an official Women's Tour twitter feed for all the very latest out on the road.

Final team selection for the Women's Tour may not happen until the days leading up to the race, so all of the riders are constantly competing against each other for a spot on the team. Whatever the line-up, they know they will be up against the best teams in the world.
