Cambridge United manager Richard Money has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 59-year-old led the U's to promotion from the Conference last season, as well as winning the FA Trophy.

Money's side retained their League Two status this campaign, as well as enjoying a memorable FA Cup run which included taking Manchester United to a replay.

Money's new deal is part of a restructuring process at the Abbey Stadium, with the club targeting a place in the play-offs next season.

Under the new system, Money will be called the 'Football Manager' rather than 'Head Coach' with his duties now including recruiting players.

The U's have also moved to appoint former Colchester United boss Joe Dunne as Money's new assistant.

Dunne was sacked by Colchester in September after overseeing a poor start to the League One season.

Cambridge's current assistant, Alan Neilson, has left the club with immediate effect.
