Richard III to be reburied with soil from Northamptonshire birthplace
King Richard III's life began at Fotheringhay Castle near Oundle and when his remains are reburied at Leicester Cathedral on Thursday soil taken from close to the castle moat will have been placed in his coffin.
Richard died at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485. His skeleton was found by archaeologists in 2012 under a car park in Leicester.
