Speedwatch volunteer says he caught 'too many' motorists

David McCandless,

A Speedwatch volunteer from Cambridgeshire says he has been struck off because he caught too many speeding motorists.

David McCandless, 69, and his team caught 40,000 speeding drivers in villages around St Ives and Ramsey in 4 years, from 2010 to 2014.

At one point, his team were recording 1,600 drivers breaking the speed limit a month.

David says the police told him they couldn't send more than 500 speed warning letters a month.
