Dramatic images: Double-decker bus fire closes a stretch of the M11

There were dramatic scenes on the M11 in Essex this morning when a double-decker bus went up in flames.

It happened just over an hour into a strike by firefighters across the Anglia region.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 8 (Bishop's Stortford) and 9 (Saffron Walden) was closed for several hours.

Three fire engines attended the scene and many drivers were caught up in lengthy delays.
